What do we Cover?
Athlos Insurance offers specialist insurance products to cover you for over 600 different types of sports or activities, whether you are practicing in your country of residence or anywhere worldwide.
Our covers are essentially made up of 3 main sections:
Sports Risk
This section is purely dedicated to cover all your risks whilst practicing sports.
Cover includes but is not limited to Medical Expenses, Specialised Medical Treatment, Evacuation, Repatriation to your country, Search and Rescue, Loss of Sports Equipment as well as your Liability towards third parties.
You can also opt to purchase optional benefits at an additional premium to cover Death, Permanent Total Disablement and Loss of Income following an Incident.
Travel Medical Emergency
This section will cover you for medical emergencies not related to sports whilst abroad.
Cover caters for both Inpatient and outpatient medical costs as well as Medical Evacuation and Repatriation. It also includes repatriation of the deceased and local funeral expenses.
Travel Assistance Abroad
This section is applicable to both sections 1 and 2 and it essentially highlights all the relevant travel related assistance and insurance cover provided to you in case of a suffered loss.
One policy to cover all your sports
If you practice more than one sport or activity, and they fall within the same risk group or a lower risk group, then you’ll be insured to practice all these sports under the same insurance policy at no additional cost.
Every sport carries a different level of risk; risk group A being the lowest and risk group E being the highest.
All sports activities we cover fall into one of five risk groups.
- Those insured for risk group A sports are covered to play sports within risk group A only.
- Those insured for risk group B sports are covered to play within risk groups A and B only.
- Those insured for risk group C sports are covered to play sports within risk groups A, B and C only.
- Those insured for risk group D sports are covered to play sports within risk group A, B, C and D only.
- Those insured for risk group E sports are covered to play all sports within all risk groups.
What is a Risk Group?
Each and every sport / activity we cover carries a specific risk of accident or injury. In line with our knowledge and expertise as well as experience, we are in a position to identify which sports falls into which particular risk groups.
Sports falling into Risk Group A would be considered to be the ‘lower risk sports’ and those falling into Risk Group E are considered as ‘high risk sports’.
